Cotton buds: dangerous for you ... and for the environment

Poor use of cotton buds can be a real risk if an earwax plug is already present. The use of cotton buds can, for example, lead to the earwax plug being compacted against the eardrum, thus aggravating the symptoms and risking perforating the eardrum.

Ear hygiene is as important as keeping our noses and mouths clean. People in France are aware of this, using on average 100 cotton buds per year to clean their ears. The only problem is that cotton buds are harmful to the environment if they are not recycled correctly.
